Alejos Sabugo is a photographer based in Asturias (Spain), dedicated to portraying the life, customs and traditions of indigenous peoples around the world. Through my camera, I seek to capture not only the beauty of faces and landscapes, but also the depth of the stories that inhabit them: the voices, rituals, memories and knowledge that resist the passage of time.
My work stems from respect and admiration for cultures that preserve their identity in the face of global homogenisation. On each trip, I strive to establish a human connection with the communities that welcome me, learning from them and giving back, with each image, a faithful and dignified testimony to their reality.
From the Andes to the Coral Triangle, from the heart of Africa to the Pacific islands, my photographs are an invitation to see the world through different eyes, to recognise diversity as a source of wealth and to understand that each tradition hides a unique way of understanding life.
